holland usrey, Teacher of the Visually Impaired

Holland Usrey joined Avalon’s amazing Vision Team as a full-time Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments. Holland brings with her five years of teaching experience: two in an Extensive Support Needs classroom (mod-severe) and three as a TVI. Holland has her Master of Arts in Education and her VI teaching Credential from San Francisco State University, and an undergraduate degree in Psychology from National University. Holland is especially passionate about educating our community on the importance of providing our VI students with multi-sensory, language-rich experiences by narrating what is happening in the world around them. In doing this, we give our VI students opportunities to develop concepts that most sighted students learn incidentally.
